When you owe the IRS or NC Department of Revenue for a sufficient amount of time, they may impose a lien on your belongings.  This allows them to (1) sell things you own, (2) take money from your bank accounts, and/or (3) prevent you from selling things you own.  We are often able to use bankruptcy to (1) block this process and (2) eliminate the lien.
